Responsibilities
lead Ecojustice’s strategic communications and marketing efforts to strengthen our brand, expand our audience, and grow mission impact
develop and execute annual communications plans that define priorities, audiences, key messages, tactics, and success measures
collaborate closely with Philanthropy leadership to align marketing and communications strategies that deepen supporter engagement and contribute to donor growth
champion brand consistency across the organization, ensuring clear, compelling storytelling and high‑quality communications across all channels
use data, analytics, and media insights to evaluate performance and continuously improve digital, media, and audience‑engagement strategies
identify emerging opportunities and risks in the external landscape and guide Ecojustice’s communications response
build and lead a high‑performing communications team, cultivating a collaborative, inclusive, and growth‑oriented culture
collaborate as a program leader to develop strategic communications plans and be a part of long term program planning
serve as a member of Ecojustice’s leadership team, contributing strategic insight, organizational leadership, and thoughtful decision‑making to advance the organization’s mission
Requirements
advanced education or training in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, public affairs, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of senior‑level experience and professional development
significant experience (benchmark of 10 years) in strategic communications, marketing, public relations, or a related discipline, with progressive leadership responsibilities
demonstrated ability to shape and deliver high‑impact communications strategies
proven senior leadership experience, including leading multi‑disciplinary teams, developing talent, and overseeing performance
experience designing and evaluating organizational‑level strategic plans, and leading major cross‑functional initiatives
strong relationship‑building and partnership development skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across senior leadership teams and external stakeholders
exceptional communication, strategic thinking, problem‑solving, and organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities with accuracy and sound judgment
strong decision‑making abilities, with a track record of assessing risks, allocating resources strategically, and guiding communications efforts that advance organizational impact
