About the role
- Senior Java Backend Developer responsible for developing high-impact distributed services for eClear AG. Leading the design and implementation with a focus on quality and scalability.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-impact distributed services that solve major challenges in our business
- Take end-to-end ownership over what you build: design, implement, ensure quality, operate and extend
- Debug issues, perform root cause analysis and apply fixes in a timely manner
- Collaborate closely with our internal product team to ensure high-impact and direct feedback
- Develop knowledge, processes and organization of the IT department
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building high-performance APIs & microservices with Java (v17/21) and Spring Boot (3.x)
- Strong knowledge of Reactive Programming (Spring WebFlux, Project Reactor) for scalable, non-blocking systems
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (ECS, Lambda, RDS, SQS, etc.) and Kubernetes
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL (or other relational DBs) and optimizations for high-throughput systems
- Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SNS/SQS)
- Familiarity with API-first development (OpenAPI/Swagger) and REST/HTTP best practices
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, ArgoCD)
- Your English is business fluent (C1), and your German is ideally good (B2+)
