Cloud Engineer managing and enhancing the AWS-based platform for a leading German securities service provider. Focused on automation, governance, and security in cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Operation & further development of the AWS-based platform: operation, management and monitoring of the cloud platform based on AWS services – including AWS Bedrock
Infrastructure as Code & automation: actively working on deployment automation using Terraform (IaC) and creating and maintaining corresponding Terraform modules
Cloud governance & security: acting as the interface to cloud governance and control functions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements at the infrastructure level (GDPR, ISMS, BaFin)
Support for technical assessments such as penetration tests or security audits
Knowledge transfer & best practices: continuous skills development and sharing of knowledge as a multiplier within the team
On-call duty: willingness to participate in on-call rotations, which will become part of the role over time.
Requirements
Proven expertise in AWS cloud operations, including multi-account management and cross-account security, as well as experience with AWS Bedrock
Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS) and Terraform (IaC)
Confident handling of account setup, Identity Center and IAM
Familiarity with VPC, network topologies, Direct Connect, Route53, MSK (Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka) and RDS
Business-fluent German (C1) and good English (B2)
Experience in cloud security is an advantage, or willingness to develop in this area
Ability to quickly grasp and analyze complex topics and derive appropriate actions
