About the role

  • Bilingual Legal Assistant supporting a dynamic law firm in Montreal. Preparing legal documents and managing client communications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and draft a variety of documents and correspondence
  • Draft standard letters, memos, briefs and pleadings
  • Provide support during trials, hearings, examinations, and related proceedings
  • Communicate with clients by phone and in person
  • Schedule appointments for clients
  • Maintain a filing and records system
  • Sort incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail
  • Perform other related duties

Requirements

  • Diploma in legal secretarial studies or completion of a paralegal/legal secretary program
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a legal assistant
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to draft correspondence and standard legal documents
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Litigation experience required
