About the role

  • Lead end-to-end strategy and operation of enterprise data platforms at Dun & Bradstreet. Ensure secure and efficient data platforms supporting global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Define a multi-year strategy and architecture for enterprise data platforms (e.g., batch/streaming ingestion, orchestration, data governance, metadata, observability, ML feature stores), balancing build vs. buy and aligning with business priorities.
  • Set standards for APIs, schemas, contracts, and data product/platform interoperability, enabling self-serve capabilities for internal builders.
  • Institutionalize modern engineering practices to deliver highly available, resilient, observable platforms.
  • Own platform and continuous improvement of availability, performance, reliability, and cost. Scope reflects our established platform patterns emphasizing availability, resiliency, and automation.
  • Lead incident, change, release, and problem management processes for data platforms across cloud environments (e.g., GCP, AWS), ensuring timely response and communications during major incidents.
  • Prioritize and deliver platform capabilities that accelerate product and analytics teams - e.g., real time data, governed sharing and AI/ML enablement.
  • Establish and run portfolio governance with clear OKRs, capacity planning, and outcome focused metrics.
  • Partner with Data & Analytics, Security and Legal to embed controls and continuously improve data quality through platform level controls and monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and certifications as applicable to business lines.
  • Build, lead, and develop a diverse, world class global team. Foster a culture of delivery, learning, motivation and engineering craftsmanship, mentor senior leaders and high potential team members.
  • Own the data platform P&L elements.
  • Manage strategic vendor relationships; evaluate emerging technologies.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with Product, Data & Analytics, AI, Security, Compliance and Finance.
  • Serve as the executive voice for our data platforms internally and externally; represent the function in strategy, planning, risk committees, and executive forums.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • 15+ years in software/data engineering with 12+ years leading platform or data engineering organizations at scale; proven success operating mission critical, cloud native data platforms and services.
  • Demonstrated experience across GCP/AWS/Azure, large scale data processing (batch & streaming), data modeling, governance, security, and observability.
  • Track record leading SRE/production ops for data platforms.
  • Hands on depth in one of more of: Distributed processing storage (Big Query / Snowflake / Databricks), orchestration, lineage, ML platforms.
  • Strong command of modern DevOps automation, and cloud security practices.
  • Excellence in Executive communication, stakeholder management, vendor negotiation and demonstrated FinOps leadership.
  • Cloud certifications (GCP, AWS, or Azure) a highly preferred.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business needs into technical architectures.
  • Ability to lead global engineering teams with deep technical expertise.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Able to manage several projects, multitask, and work well under pressure.
