About the role

Senior Data Scientist driving analytics and machine learning for b_labs at B.TECH. Collaborating with teams to innovate and support the company's goal of becoming a leading omni-channel platform in Egypt.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with business partners to develop novel ways to meet objectives utilizing cutting edge techniques and tools
Effectively communicates the analytics approach and how it will meet and address objectives to business partners
Advocates and educates on the value of data driven decision-making focusing on the “how and why” of solving problems
Leads analytic approaches, integrating work into applications and tools with data engineers, business leads, analysts and developers
Creates repeatable, interpretable, dynamic and scalable models that are seamlessly incorporated into analytic data products
Shares passion for data science with broader enterprise community; identifies and develops long-term processes, frameworks, tools, methods and standards
Stays connected with external sources of ideas through conferences and community engagements

Holds a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics
5+ years experience as data scientist with a track record of working within high paced environments
Experience in defining analytical approach for complex systems including several ML models
Strong experience with Python (incl. proficiency working with data frames)
Strong experience of writing complex SQL queries
Strong experience with Machine Learning to solve supervised and unsupervised problems on large scale data sets
Proven ability to merge and transform various data sets together to create new features
Strong experience with big data technologies (Spark is required, other experiences is a plus)
Strong experience with supporting deployment, monitoring, maintenance and enhancement of models desired
Experience with Quality Assurance and model validation approaches
Experience with data visualization tools preferred – Tableau, Power BI, R Shiny, Plotly, etc.
Strong experience in agile ways of working across an interdisciplinary team
Collaborates with Product Manager, Scrum Master, Design Lead and rest of technical team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to deliver complex messages, explain trade-offs, and tell a compelling story – also for corporate stakeholders
