About the role
- SAP License and IT Application Manager supporting IT strategy implementation while ensuring license management and optimization. Collaborating with teams to enhance software asset management processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage the SAP license portfolio, including ensuring proper measurement, assignment of licenses, and coordinating additional license purchases
- Advise SAP-using IT teams/products—particularly on selecting the right licensing, optimizing license costs and inventory, and defining requirements for new SAP contracts
- Support the Service Manager in planning, managing, and appropriately charging SAP maintenance fees
- Operate and further develop the Software Asset Management (SAM) tool, and automate workflows and reports to increase efficiency
- Advise internal customers on Software Asset Management and support license inventories and audits
- Analyze license usage and identify cost-saving and optimization opportunities across various IT applications
Requirements
- Successfully completed university degree, a 2-year technical college/vocational qualification, or equivalent professional experience
- Hands-on experience with measurement using SAP LAW, SAP license metrics, and contract terms
- Solid knowledge of Software Asset Management processes, ideally with experience implementing, operating, and enhancing SAM tools
- Ability to analyze license usage and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Experience in automating workflows and reports, e.g., using Power Automate, scripting, or comparable tools
- Strong analytical skills combined with a conscientious and result-oriented working style
- A collaborative team player who is enthusiastic about new trends and ideas
