About the role

  • Change Delivery Specialist for Home Pricing & Underwriting at Direct Line Group. Responsible for implementing changes to the rating algorithm while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Join us in this crucial role as a Change Delivery Specialist within Home Pricing & Underwriting.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Home Insurance strategy through accurately and efficiently implementing changes to the rating algorithm.
  • Take ownership for building, maintaining, and monitoring the rating engine so that it is compliant, accurate and efficient
  • Ensure comprehensive model testing is run/validated to prove out all change
  • Support in the enhancement of processes, including testing to create efficiency whilst maintaining accuracy
  • Excellent spoken and written skills so to support engagement with various stakeholders and the wider Pricing & Underwriting community, to ensure alignment with approaches
  • Contributing to overall Department/DLG wide objectives, strategies and priorities.
  • Be aware of Pricing and Underwriting Controls and Governance and abide by the controls in place
  • Identify and manage risks associated with the role, adhering to the company risk framework.
  • Communicate any price, model, or data issues promptly.
  • Developing your own skills and knowledge such that you have the expertise required to achieve current and future business requirements.
  • Reinforce the culture and core values of Direct Line Group through appropriate behaviours and Actions
  • Support the Home Change Team’s Defect Management process. Aiding with diagnosis, deriving, testing and implementing any required fixes.

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in Mathematics/Computer Science or a related degree or similar numerical subject
  • Knowledge of the WTW Radar software and how to build, develop and test algorithms desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge and experience of programming languages and software such as SQL, Python, Excel VBA.
  • Experience in the insurance industry (preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving skills & a keen eye for attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and a team player
  • Good knowledge of IT principles and processes
