About the role
- Senior Software Engineer developing PHP Symfony solutions for Legal Tech company. Designing, developing and maintaining legal software in a hybrid work environment from Montreal.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and maintain features of our platform
- Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers to propose user-centered solutions
- Take part in code reviews and mentor junior developers
- Contribute to architectural discussions and participate in technical decision-making
- Ensure high code quality and optimal performance through testing, monitoring and optimization
- Help define and maintain engineering and DevOps best practices
- Stay informed about industry trends and tools, and evaluate new technologies to improve the platform
Requirements
- Strong experience (7+ years) in software development on complex web architectures
- Excellent command of backend PHP, ideally with the Symfony framework
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MariaDB) and ability to optimize SQL performance
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes environments and modern DevOps practices
- Rigour, attention to detail and a strong commitment to code quality
- Team player with clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse profiles (product, design, engineering, etc.)
- Technological curiosity, active learning and a desire to experiment with new approaches
