About the role
- Educational specialist providing intensive support for boys aged 10-16 in residential group. Working closely with families and various partners for holistic development.
Responsibilities
- Educational support - Supporting and accompanying male children and adolescents according to their individual developmental and care needs, and promoting practical life skills
- Taking responsibility - Designing and implementing the pedagogical concept and coordinating educational programs
- Relationship building - Establishing professional relationships with the children and adolescents and working closely with their families of origin
- Coordination and cooperation - Close collaboration with partners such as clinics, physicians, therapists, youth welfare offices, and schools
- Development - Contributing to conceptual development and cross-group working groups, and promoting team development
Requirements
- A pedagogical qualification: e.g., trained educator (Erzieher), curative education nurse/special needs educator (Heilerziehungspfleger), or a degree in social work, social pedagogy, or an equivalent qualification
- Experience in residential care settings, particularly in working with traumatized children and adolescents
- Willingness to work shifts, including responsibility for 24-hour duties
- Clear communication, resilience in challenging situations, and a professional demeanor both within the team and when interacting with external agencies
- Familiarity with documentation and reporting, as structured working practices are second nature to you
