About the role

  • Commercial Manager for Del Monte (France) handling sales strategies and client relationships in the fresh food sector. Responsible for developing annual sales plans and managing client acquisitions.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the annual sales plan.
  • Grow revenue and margins for products sold by Del Monte.
  • Manage fruit purchasing and allocations within the Group for Del Monte France to ensure customer order fulfillment.
  • Market fresh products in the French market in line with the annual strategy.
  • Implement commercial and marketing strategies under the supervision of the Commercial Director (events, promotions, sales activities).
  • Maintain regular and proactive relationships with prospects and customers, including key accounts.
  • Prospect for new customers (wholesalers, retailers, etc.).
  • Handle customer complaints, manage administrative follow-up of files, and ensure timely order settlement.
  • Monitor competitors and stock levels, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Lead commercial development projects in new territories (Southern region), coordinate involved teams (logistics, quality) and ensure compliance with Del Monte internal policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of commercial/sales experience in businesses with short shelf-life products (food) or in the fruit trade.
  • Strong knowledge of the retail channel and supermarket relationships.
  • Good command of French and English, both spoken and written.
  • Proven experience in sales/marketing to customers.
  • Proficient in retail pricing, promotional pricing, negotiating price increases and contract extensions.
  • Excellent product category knowledge and understanding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: ability to communicate clearly and speak confidently, even in challenging situations.
  • Ability to work in a team and interact effectively with different internal departments.
  • Strong commercial acumen: ability to analyze financial scenarios to optimize profitability.
  • Knowledge of promotional strategies (Hi/Lo) and ROI of promotional budgets, for national brands and private labels.
  • Proficiency with IT tools and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent presentation skills: ability to structure commercial proposals.
  • Flexibility: willingness to travel for business and to be away from home.
