- Senior IT-System Engineer analyzing and resolving issues in applications on Windows and Linux servers at DATAGROUP. Collaborating with teams for system improvements and support on migrations.
Responsibilities
- Independent analysis and resolution of errors in various applications on Windows and Linux servers
- Evaluation and interpretation of event logs, log files, and system messages
- Performing and analyzing network traces (e.g., with Wireshark) to identify performance or communication issues
- Close collaboration with business units, developers, and external partners in root-cause analysis of complex incidents
- Planning and execution of maintenance tasks such as patching, certificate replacement, or configuration adjustments
- Maintenance and documentation of system environments and troubleshooting processes
- Active participation in the development and automation of infrastructure and monitoring solutions
- Support for the introduction of new systems and technical migration projects
Requirements
- Completed vocational training or degree in IT or comparable professional experience
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructures, especially Windows and Linux servers (including services, networking, protocols)
- Hands-on experience in application troubleshooting and working with logs and trace tools
- Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, SSL/TLS)
- Confident handling of certificates, patch management, and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
- Experience with monitoring and ticketing systems (e.g., Zabbix, CheckMK, Jira, USU)
- Good communication skills and analytical thinking
- Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style
- Very good German language skills, good English skills
