(Senior) Systems Engineer responsible for securing and modernizing IT systems in critical infrastructures. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and advising clients on security requirements.
Responsibilities
Analyze existing IT systems and derive technical measures to secure systems
Design and assess secure system architectures as well as operational, hardening and migration concepts
Support technical integrations, migrations and modernizations in security‑critical IT infrastructures
Advise our clients on security requirements, system design and hardening strategies
Participate in reviews, tests and audits to verify security and compliance requirements
Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, develop methods and standards and take technical responsibility for topic or project components
Requirements
Degree in IT or comparable technical education with relevant professional experience
Experience and interest in designing technical security measures, system hardening, or working with security‑critical IT environments
Solid knowledge of IT infrastructures, system architectures and operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux)
Familiarity with established security standards (e.g., BSI, ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks) and the ability to derive technical measures from them
Ideally expertise in at least one focus area, e.g., system hardening, network security, or Zero Trust
Interest in new technologies, scientific working methods and knowledge management
Analytical thinking, structured working style, independence and a team player mentality
Very good German and good English language skills are expected
