About the role
- Product Engineering Specialist leading vehicle product development for Cummins in Troy, MI. Responsible for driving product reliability and managing cross-functional engineering projects within a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and cross-functional coordination of product development activities
- Identify and mitigate potential failure causes, improving product reliability
- Use modeling and simulation tools to guide design decisions
- Manage product interfaces and interactions for seamless system integration
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to resolve complex product issues
- Conduct rigorous verification and validation planning
- Convert stakeholder inputs into clear, verifiable system requirements
- Document and share technical knowledge to enhance team productivity
Requirements
- BSME (MSME preferred) with minimum of 4 years of full-time direct, practical experience
- Experience with Off-highway & specialty vehicle products and systems
- Experience with planetary axle housing & wheel-ends
- Knowledge and understanding of vehicle dynamics is preferred
- Excellent understanding of static analysis, fatigue analysis, dynamic and kinematic studies
- Experienced using 3D part & assembly modeling software (CREO)
- Knowledge of product development stage gate processes (e.g. GP3 or APQP)
