Responsibilities
- Maintain strong internal controls by reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Manage and review general ledger activity, including accruals, adjustments, and account analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools and automation technologies to streamline accounting workflows, improve reconciliation processes, and enhance operational efficiency within the finance function.
- Identify opportunities to optimize accounting operations, reduce manual processes, and improve the scalability of financial systems as the company grows.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting schedules, reconciliation reports, and responding to audit inquiries.
- Partner with teams across Finance, FP&A, Accounts Payable, and Operations to ensure alignment and accuracy across financial data and reporting.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably in SaaS, technology companies, or high-growth startup environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus
- Strong experience performing heavy balance sheet reconciliations, identifying discrepancies, and resolving complex accounting issues across multiple accounts and entities.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as Sage Intacct or similar platforms, along with accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
- Familiarity or hands-on experience using AI-powered finance tools, automation platforms, or modern accounting technologies to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles, month-end close processes, and financial reporting requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze financial data, identify inconsistencies, and ensure financial accuracy.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate financial insights clearly.
