Entry level IT Technician providing technical support for the Springfield, IL office of Crawford, Murphy & Tilly. Handling desktop, laptop, and network issues in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Provide responsive technical support to end users across the firm
Diagnose and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, and basic network issues
Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals
Monitor and maintain computer systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime
Troubleshoot domain logins, user access, and common operating system issues
Create, manage, and deactivate user accounts and equipment during onboarding and offboarding
Repair, replace, and coordinate warranty service for IT equipment as needed
Evaluate and test new technologies and tools for potential firm‑wide use
Create and maintain internal IT documentation, including SOPs, checklists, and equipment inventories
Escalate complex issues as appropriate and work collaboratively with the IT team
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in CIS, MIS, IT, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
Strong customer‑service mindset with professional and courteous communication skills
Excellent troubleshooting, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond promptly in a fast‑paced environment
Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and common business applications
Self‑motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Willingness to learn new technologies and contribute to the growth of CMT’s IT capabilities
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Availability to work occasional weekends or non‑traditional hours, as required
