About the role

  • Hazard communication expert for Corbion focusing on Safety Data Sheets and regulatory compliance. Working within a global team to enable product safety and legal adherence in Latin America.

Responsibilities

  • Own daily activities to create and maintain product and raw material (master) data in SAP Product Compliance, using this for preparation of Safety Data Sheets, dangerous goods documents and labels.
  • Enable systems to work mostly automated, intervene where required and ensure documents created and stored are accurate (e.g. SDS, data sheets, labels, certificates, etc.) in order to stay compliant.
  • Participate in strategy discussions with business leaders and provide regulatory support based on this.
  • Stay up to date with various compliance topics e.g. hazard communication standards (e.g. ABNT), GHS, dangerous goods transport (e.g. IMDG, IATA, ANTT), assess impact of changes and proactively follow-up.
  • Contribute to the development of Corbion's regulatory knowledge centre (by e.g. visiting conferences, trainings and following regulatory news alerts).
  • Work closely with the Product Safety and ERP team to keep SAP Product Compliance operational, up to date and fit for future.

Requirements

  • Graduate (MSc. / BSc.) degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Toxicology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Biotechnology and/or Occupational Health and Safety
  • Proven hands-on experience with SDS authoring software (e.g. SAP Product Compliance) and affinity with managing product information
  • Worldwide understanding of hazard communication and product labelling, with a strong focus on Latin America.
  • Transport of dangerous goods knowledge is considered an added advantage.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English, any additional languages (e.g. Spanish) are considered an asset.
  • Team player with good networking skills and experience in managing projects and data.
  • Effective communication and digital skills, including the ability to work effectively with a team online.
  • Relevant experience in a food/ingredients company or similar company required.
  • Ability to travel within the region when required and intercontinentally each quarter.
