About the role

  • Software Development Intern supporting IT team at Continental Finance Company. Gain real-life exposure to business operations and collaborate on impactful projects during the summer internship.

Responsibilities

  • Support our IT team
  • Get real-life exposure to the daily duties of the department
  • Spend the summer as a valued member of their respective team, learning business skills and assisting with a variety of projects that have an impact on the business operations.
  • Complete a final project that will be an overview of activities, tasks, and experiences throughout the 10-week program.
  • Responsible for execution of the project and tasks outlined by the mentor
  • Complete weekly reports summarizing project progress and deliverables
  • Meet regularly with a mentor to review projects, reports, and address questions
  • Support the department and organization by contributing innovative ideas, solutions, and an external perspective
  • Perform technical tasks, including software development, SQL queries, and other duties as required within the technology department
  • Participate in a structured, cross-functional IT project planned, developed, and delivered over a 9-week period, culminating in a final report to the Executive Team in week 10
  • Collaborate with a multi-departmental team, including Business Systems Analysts and Quality Assurance, contributing to a project with a user interface, service layer, and database components
  • Gain experience working alongside other IT interns to simulate a comprehensive, real-world software development lifecycle experience

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in and working towards an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, or Computer Science
  • Available to work 40 hours /week (hybrid) for the 10-week program: June 2 nd – August 6 th , 2026
  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited university
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated skills in programming and software development, including languages such as JavaScript, C#, HTML, React, C++, or similar
  • Familiarity with databases and structured query language (SQL)
  • Strong customer service aptitude
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
