About the role

  • SAP License Consultant advising mid-sized businesses and large corporations on SAP license optimization and contract negotiation. Conducting license analyses and supporting negotiations alongside internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • As an SAP License Consultant, you advise clients in mid-sized companies and large corporations on optimizing their SAP licenses and contracts, prepare business cases, and support contract negotiations.
  • Conduct license requirement analyses for existing and planned SAP system landscapes
  • Advise internal stakeholders on licensing models, usage types and compliance requirements
  • Assess license risks, including defining appropriate mitigation measures
  • Monitor and manage current SAP license usage (users, engines, Digital Access, infrastructure add-ons)
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant SAP licensing and contractual terms
  • Prepare and support SAP measurements (USMM, LAW, PCE metering) and audits
  • Develop and maintain a continuous license management process
  • Identify cost-saving potentials and optimize the license landscape
  • Derive strategic recommendations for future SAP investments
  • Evaluate new SAP licensing models such as SAP Cloud ERP Private or Public (RISE / GROW)
  • Produce reports, analyses and decision papers for management

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the SAP product portfolio (SAP ECC, S/4HANA, SAP Cloud, BTP, SuccessFactors, Ariba, Business AI, etc.)
  • Understanding of SAP licensing models (on-premise, cloud — in particular Cloud ERP Public and Private (formerly GROW and RISE), Digital Access)
  • Experience with the SAP contractual framework (on-premise and cloud) and SAP contract negotiations
  • Knowledge of compliance and audit processes (license measurements, SAP LAW, USMM, license measurement in the cloud, STAR framework)
  • Basic knowledge of SAP authorization concepts, system architectures and S/4 migration/transformation approaches
  • Fundamentals in Software Asset Management (SAM) and ITSM processes
  • Analytical and consulting skills
  • Ability to interpret usage data and derive license requirements
  • Cost optimization and scenario calculations (TCO / TVO) for licensing strategies
  • Experience providing negotiation support with SAP or resellers
  • Preparation of analyses and management presentations
