About the role

  • Business Analyst developing and managing capital expenditure business cases for technology at Coles Group. Engage with senior stakeholders to influence and recommend investments aligned with company strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust, end-to-end CapEx business cases for technology infrastructure investments, ensuring financial soundness and alignment to strategic objectives.
  • Own and maintain the Lifecycle Management (LCM) Roadmap for store technology assets.
  • Conduct advanced financial modelling—including ROI, NPV, IRR, and payback analysis—to support investment decision‑making.
  • Assess and articulate commercial trade-offs, risks, and options for technology infrastructure initiatives.
  • Manage lifecycle planning and product roadmaps for critical store technology assets (hardware, networking, store systems).
  • Prepare and facilitate submissions through TAC Minor CAC, CAC, and broader governance processes.
  • Engage, influence, and present business cases to senior stakeholders including Heads of Department, General Managers, and governance forums.
  • Ensure all documentation and recommendations meet CPDM requirements and standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience developing end‑to‑end capital expenditure business cases for retail or technology infrastructure projects.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to simplify and clearly communicate investment rationale and trade-offs.
  • Advanced Excel financial modelling skills, including sensitivity and scenario analysis.
  • Experience managing lifecycle roadmaps and product planning for technology infrastructure assets.
  • Familiarity with TAC Minor CAC, CAC governance processes, and CPDM.
  • A strong background in technology infrastructure (hardware, networking, store systems, lifecycle management).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to executive-level stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
