About the role

• Acting Executive Director for Coast Mental Health Foundation providing leadership during the leave of absence. Overseeing operations while engaging with major donors and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership during the leave of absence of the permanent Executive Director.
• Ensure continuity of operations and maintain organizational effectiveness.
• Oversee financial stewardship, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance with systematic procedures.
• Maintain strong relationships with major donors and oversee the identification of potential new donors.
• Support and advise the Board for effective decision-making and governance.
• Prepare documentation for the return of the permanent Executive Director and maintain thorough records throughout the term.
• Act as the primary executive contact for maintaining communication with the Board and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Senior leadership experience in a Canadian registered charity/fund development organization.
• Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising and capital campaign leadership.
• Experience working with Boards of Directors and senior volunteers in a fundraising environment.
• Experience managing donor relationships at the $100K–$1M + level.
• Understanding of Canadian registered charities laws and regulations, particularly affecting public foundations.
• Strategic and collaborative leadership style.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work in partnership with an affiliated organization.
