  • Accounting Technician with the Coast Guard Community Services Command performing various accounting tasks and providing technical support for internal and external clients. Handling financial records and reporting in Chesapeake, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of general accounting tasks to compile, prepare, review, and verify financial records
  • Maintain and update files and records using software and manual systems
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of accounting data
  • Communicate with internal and external clients for technical support
  • Abstract data reflecting financial condition and present in reports

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of progressively responsible experience in accounting principles and practices
  • Experience with accounting software and functions
  • Intermediate experience with Excel
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
