About the role
- Data Engineer at ClickView, building efficient data pipelines and collaborating with engineering teams to enhance the educational video platform.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end responsibility for data projects and work to enable our engineering teams by making data useful:
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Develop and manage the data architecture to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
- Implement best practices for data management, including data governance and data lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand data requirements and provide scalable solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
- Work closely within the team to support data visualization and reporting solutions using Looker.
- Create and maintain documentation related to data engineering processes and workflows.
Requirements
- Solid experience working in data engineering or software engineering
- Experience with cloud Data Warehousing (Snowflake) and Data Lake experience
- A strong understanding of ELT/ETL processes and data architecture
- Nice to have, experience with data structures and query languages in relational DBs such as MySQL and MS SQL Server
- Experience with DBT and familiar with the best practice of data transformation and adherence best practices.
- Familiar with AWS native services (S3, DMS, Lambda, Glue, etc)
- A passion for data engineering and analytics
- Understanding of statistical models
- Ability to visualize data with the knowledge of BI tools (we use Looker)
- Ability to maintain data infrastructure, and data pipelines and ensure data integrity
- Ability to communicate ideas, processes, and practices clearly
