About the role

  • Agent de communications pour l'unité des agents spéciaux à Ottawa. Répondre aux appels de service et veiller à la sécurité dans les transports en commun.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safety and compliance training and professional development
  • Respond to service calls from the public, transit services, and emergency resources related to safety issues
  • Communicate with the City’s emergency services
  • Monitor unit equipment functionality and conduct investigations

Requirements

  • Diploma or certificate representing two (2) years of study at a community college in public safety (Police/Fire/Paramedic/Communications)
  • At least two (2) years of experience in transit services, emergency services, or in a call centre, with experience using a computer, communication tools, and CCVR technology (CCTV/closed‑circuit video recording)
  • Valid Standard First Aid, CPR, or AED certificate
  • Working knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, related federal and provincial legislation, and the Municipal Transit By‑law
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
