About the role
- Senior Mobile Engineer building mobile apps at Chowdeck delivering food and groceries. Responsible for UI components, performance improvements, and collaboration with the engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain features on one or more of our three mobile apps for customers, vendors and riders
- Build app and UI components from prototypes and wireframes
- Build pixel-perfect, smooth UIs across both major mobile platforms, iOS and Android
- Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms when necessary
- Continuously Improve front-end performance by eliminating performance bottlenecks
- Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks so our apps feel as native as possible
- Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure products are of the highest quality
- Work with engineers across the company to build and maintain new features at large-scale
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
Requirements
- Significant professional experience building large, production-grade mobile apps
- Experience as a team or technical lead is a plus
- Firm handle on JavaScript, React Native and its many nuances
- Familiarity with native build tools such as XCode and Gradle as well as Fastlane for automated CI/CD
- Fundamental knowledge of Node, JavaScript, and MySQL
- Experience building delight into products using animations where necessary
- Experience using and implementing automated testing suites for mobile
- Ability to write code that meets standards for style, maintainability, testability and best practices for high-scale web environment
- Ability to think through product requirements to solve problems without compromising quality
