About the role

  • VMware Virtualization Engineer supporting Navy AEGIS program. Designing, implementing, and supporting secure vSphere environments in a DoD setting.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and administer VMware vSphere / ESXi clusters supporting Navy AEGIS systems.
  • Monitor performance, capacity, and availability of virtual infrastructure and implement tuning as needed.
  • Collaborate with storage and network teams to ensure highly available, integrated infrastructure services.
  • Implement security hardening and support vulnerability remediation in accordance with DISA STIGs and Navy policy.
  • Produce and maintain run books, configuration documentation, and change records.
  • Provide Tier 3 support for incidents, problems, and change activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience administering VMware vSphere in enterprise environments.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (required on day one).
  • Strong knowledge of virtual networking (VLANs, routing, firewalls as related to VMware).
  • Experience with backup/restore of virtual machines and data protection.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work onsite in a secure facility.
  • Preferred VCP certification or higher.
  • Experience in Navy/DoD environments.
  • Exposure to vSAN and automation (PowerCLI, Ansible).
