About the role

  • Tax Manager handling corporate tax returns and staff management at CBIZ. Leading compliance engagements and building client relationships while mentoring team members.

Responsibilities

  • Review federal and state corporate returns; Review high level federal and state partnership returns.
  • Train and supervise staff, review and evaluate their work.
  • Perform evaluations on lower level staff.
  • Manage compliance engagements, from budgeting to scheduling to managing staff.
  • Make suggestions to help improve efficiencies, within department and on engagements.
  • Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate interest and knowledge of client's business
  • Perform research and draft memoranda on corporate tax issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • 3 years supervisory experience
  • Must have active CPA or equivalent certification
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
