About the role

  • Systems Engineer developing Automatic Flight Control Systems for Honeywell in aviation. Focus on design, testing, and collaboration in a hybrid work setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the design, development and integration of automatic flight control systems ensuring they meet integrated avionics system and customer requirements
  • Responsibility for the AFCS development at the level of AFCS subsystems – including planning, reporting, technical team coordination and communication
  • Model-Based development using MATLAB/Simulink
  • Conduct validation and verification/testing of the system to ensure compliance with requirements and aerospace industry standards
  • Collaboration with domestic and international teams and customers including possible ground or flight test activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Avionics/Aerospace Engineering/Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering/Control Systems/Industrial Automation
  • 4+ years experience with systems development of aerospace, automotive, rail, or similar safety-critical systems
  • Experienced with model-based development in MATLAB/Simulink (or similar tools used in systems development, modeling and simulation)
  • Experience with requirements development and usage of configuration management tools (e.g. DOORS or DOORS NG)
  • Experience with requirements verification and validation
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft/avionics functions and systems
  • Previous experience with Flight Control and/or Flight Guidance systems
  • Advanced knowledge of systems/software development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of aerospace system/software development standards (SAE ARP 4754A (B), RTCA DO-178, DO-331)
  • Experience with scripting language (e.g. Python)
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English
  • Self-starter, motivated and takes initiative and able to work independently and consistently takes the initiative to get things done
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Interested in working in fast paced, global business environment
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and highest ethical standards
  • Good communication skills
  • Must meet any applicable Export License conditions in terms of nationality for the given project.
  • Capability and willingness to travel abroad for trainings, business meetings and customer support
  • Ability to work under stress
