About the role

  • AML Operations Team Leader managing transaction monitoring and client screening for an investment broker. Leading compliance training and operational efficiency in a multi-regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the end-to-end execution of AML operational activities such as transaction monitoring and client screening.
  • Provide guidance and take decisions on complex AML operational cases.
  • Oversee the Group AML Training Program, ensuring staff awareness and compliance readiness.
  • Ensure adequate resourcing, continuity, and efficiency of AML operational activities across the Group.
  • Identify operational gaps and recommend process enhancements to improve overall performance and productivity.
  • Ensure the team operates in adherence to internal standards, procedures and AML requirements.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting obligations of the Group, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Lead investigations of potential fraud cases in coordination with other departments.
  • Oversee Customer Due Diligence (CDD) enquiries and ensure proper escalation where necessary.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all AML operational matters within the Group.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) / Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to relevant authorities.

Requirements

  • BSc/BA in Legal, Finance, Business or relevant field.
  • 4+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience within an AML function.
  • Proven experience with transaction monitoring systems.
  • Open to creative solutions and business innovation.
  • Industry related experience within a role of a multi-regulated investment firm is a must.
  • Preferably holding AML CySEC certificate.
  • Strong analytical, and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Greek.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask and work to strict deadlines.
