About the role

  • Director overseeing the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University. Leading legal technical assistance and health policy litigation communications.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Center’s work to study and demystify the role that litigation and courts play in health policy
  • Help support policymakers and partners by providing expert legal technical assistance
  • Track and analyze policy developments and relevant litigation, including advising on the development of the Center’s Health Care Litigation Tracker
  • Communicate the importance of relevant litigation to the public through timely publications, media engagement, and be a hub for critical information about health policy litigation
  • Advance the mission of the O’Neill Institute including program management and strategic planning
  • Interact daily with senior co-directors and other Institute team members

Requirements

  • J.D. and 5 to 7 years of relevant experience required
  • Significant legal or public policy experience
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills
  • Ability to research, evaluate, and summarize laws, regulations, and caselaw
  • Working understanding of federal courts and related processes
  • Ability to guide and manage junior staff
  • Passion for doing important legal and policy work to help advance domestic health policy
  • Background in policies related to the Medicare Advantage program or lowering health care costs
  • Experience with administrative law, constitutional law, and federal regulatory processes and procedures
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
