About the role
- Security Dispatcher ensuring the safety, security, and welfare at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Engaging in emergency communications, coordinating security personnel, and monitoring alarms.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point for emergency communications and handle high priority calls
- Dispatch security personnel promptly and efficiently
- Monitor and respond to a variety of alarms and initiate appropriate emergency protocols
- Oversee CCTV surveillance, identifying and reporting unusual activities
- Utilize advanced dispatching systems to deploy security officers to critical areas and document activities accurately
- Coordinate with staff and emergency services to manage incidents and ensure rapid response
- Maintain comprehensive logs and records, including daily activities and incident reports
- Make clear, concise, and urgent announcements during emergencies
- Assist with emergency functions including current event monitoring and disaster support
- Ensure all reporting means are performed accurately and timely and maintain a clean, organized area
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or public relations
- Some college preferred
- Relevant professional certification in emergency dispatching or communications preferred
- Healthcare or emergency services experience highly desirable
- Exceptional communications skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to follow detailed instructions
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in using personal computers and dispatching software
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments in emergency situations
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive information
