About the role

  • Risk and Business Continuity Management Advisor at Alberta Blue Cross providing support for risk and continuity planning. Collaborate with teams for effective risk documentation and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Business Continuity Programs
  • Support the design, development, and maintenance of business continuity plans (BCPs) to ensure minimal disruption to critical business operations during incidents
  • Conduct business impact analysis (BIA) and update continuity plans regularly
  • Support crisis management response efforts and collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate incident responses
  • Regularly report risk assessments, business continuity performance, and progress of mitigation strategies to management and key stakeholders
  • Provide advice on risk management and business continuity
  • Ensure business continuity and risk management practices align with industry standards and best practices
  • Provide advise on the development and implementation of risk policies and procedures
  • Proactively participate in internal and external cross-functional teams and build effective working relationships to support a collaborative environment

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years of directly related experience in enterprise risk management (ERM)
  • A minimum of three years of experience in business continuity planning (BCP)
  • A related undergraduate degree in Business, risk management or in other relevant fields
  • Completion of Risk Management, Internal Audit or Business Continuity certifications or designations is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of risk management principles, including risk identification, assessment, controls and mitigation strategies
  • Experience supporting the development and monitoring of business continuity and incident management planning processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across departments
  • Clear written, verbal communication abilities, including experience preparing reports or presentations
  • Commitment to customer service and supporting business partners through guidance and clear communication
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data and identify gaps in documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Power BI
  • Experience with GRC tools would be an asset.
