About the role
- Senior QA Automation Engineer at SMBC responsible for high-quality automated tests. Collaborating with teams to understand requirements and improve testing processes in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Support multiple projects by collaborating with others to understand business requirements
- Develop test plans, create and implement automated tests
- Ensure Tests across our integrated applications are high-quality and functioning correctly
- Contribute to automation strategy planning, development, and implementation
- Lead junior QA engineers and manual testers
- Develop a training pathway to facilitate the transition of manual testers to an automation role
- Investigate and report on new technologies, identify and propose Automation Process improvements
- Identify and suggest process improvements to create efficiencies
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years’ experience in automation testing and automation strategy planning
- Expertise in black box and white box testing
- Strong coding capabilities with Python, JavaScript, Java, VBScript, and testing tools like RFT, UFT and Eggplant
- Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and other markup languages
- Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in the use of Test management tools – HP Quality Centre, JIRA
- High attention to detail and process oriented
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins, Docker
- Familiarity with Source Control Management concepts and tools – Perforce being particularly useful
- Experience in payments related testing would be a distinct advantage
