About the role

  • Data/Operations Analyst analyzing insider and cyber risks for SMBC. Utilizing data analytics and reporting to enhance cybersecurity measures in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review data, metrics, reports, and dashboards to identify patterns and anomalies for insider and cyber risks.
  • Understand the requirements in-depth and use frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53, CISA IRMPE, and NIST AI RMF, with a focus on insider risk.
  • Conduct analytical delivery of insider and cyber risk trends, patterns, anomalies, and cybersecurity metrics, KPIs/KRIs, and dashboards.
  • Assist in evaluation of existing and planned metrics and dashboards, identify gaps, and propose new metrics.
  • Synthesize insider and cyber intelligence, interpret policy compliance data, and contribute to strategic recommendations.
  • Produce technical to executive-level analysis and reporting using Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint, and track and manage tasks using tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, and other project management platforms.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders and ensure that analysis findings are actionable and support broader organizational objectives related to cyber insider risk and compliance.
  • Support the use of reports, metrics, and dashboards by different types of users.

Requirements

  • 3 years or more in a data/operations analysis role.
  • Must have strong ability to apply data analytics in a strategic context.
  • Proficiency in Relational Databases, SQL, Power BI/Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Experience in tools such as Python, Databricks, ServiceNow and Jira would be a plus.
  • Candidates must have strong data and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret technical data and develop actionable metrics, and dashboards for different levels of business stakeholders.
  • Experience with insider risk and cybersecurity principles, insider risk frameworks and insider threat modeling is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new methodologies is essential.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a self-motivated and disciplined approach to learning and working.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and demonstrate leadership skills when needed.
  • Possess a highly developed sense of personal accountability and follow-through with an ability to effectively prioritize multiple personal tasks, projects, and goals.
