About the role
- Senior Manager in risk management at Capital One supporting technology and product teams while identifying and mitigating risks. Collaborating with executives and ensuring project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product and Tech teams, leveraging a trusted advisor model to support business initiatives, issue management, process improvement, control testing and related risk assessment activities
- Assist Tech and Product Risk leadership in delivering against their strategy and services
- Develop a deep understanding of business strategies, products, services, and risk profile
- Evaluate the technical products and risk slope efforts based on technical and cyber impacts
- Implement process improvements: process certification framework, process hierarchy change management, change control, and risk reporting
- Ensure independent escalation of risk management gaps, issues, and concerns, including emerging risks and regulatory focus areas
- Consult on Risks across the first line of defense business partners providing advice and guidance as needed
- Participate in processes criticality assessments and process level assessments
- Manage multiple tasks independently to meet deadlines
- Communicate complex ideas concisely and convincingly, adjust communication to the audience and comfortable with presenting to executive leadership
- Collaborate, values diverse perspectives and seeks insights from others. Brings energy to the group and rallies them around a common goal.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in Risk Management, Process Management, Project Management, or a combination
- At least 5 years of experience in Technology Management or Cyber Risk Management
- At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal and external business clients
- At least 4 years of experience consulting with senior executives or strategy building
- Risk Certifications (CRISC, CISM, CRCM, CIPP, ABA Risk Mgmt Certification) preferred
- At least 6 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal stakeholders preferred
- At least 3 years of experience in the Financial Services industry preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud technologies preferred
- Project Management (PMP) or Program Management (PgMP) certification preferred
- Knowledge of appropriate controls to secure cloud-based services (SaaS) products preferred
