About the role

  • Legal Intern providing assistance in legal research and business meetings at Capital Blue Cross. Engaging in community service projects and presenting outcomes to leadership teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to the Legal Department with legal research and written advice
  • Attend a variety of business meetings related to research and areas of interest
  • Attend meetings related to Capital Blue Cross operations
  • Complete a service project with one of our community partners
  • Participate in ongoing company initiatives
  • Translate classroom learning into fresh perspectives
  • Formally present outcomes of the experience to the executive team and extended leadership team
  • Network with Capital Blue Cross staff and participate in company-wide learning events

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a JD level program
  • Rising third year student
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exposure to basic Microsoft Excel
  • Preferred GPA of 3.2 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale or equivalent thereof)
  • Ability to commit full-time to a 13-week program that runs May 18- August 14
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to commit to an onsite or hybrid work schedule
