About the role
- Insurance Follow-Up Specialist reviewing accounts and assisting patients with inquiries at Cancer Specialists of North Florida. Responsible for claim reimbursement and dealing with insurance companies professionally.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing all specifically assigned accounts to resolve unpaid patient accounts
- Assisting patients with inquiries regarding their accounts
- Reviewing EOBs to provide proper claim reimbursement
- Interpreting fee schedules
- Preparing write-off requests for supervisors
- Demonstrating ability to deal with patients and insurance companies professionally
- Receiving and resolving patient billing complaints
- Researching written requests for refunds
- Responding to insurance companies promptly
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding patient account status
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a medical business office setting, preferably working with insurance collections and follow-ups
