About the role

  • Lead design of HVAC and plumbing systems for complex, mission‑critical data center facilities. Collaborate across multiple disciplines on technically demanding projects requiring high reliability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and construction activities
  • Design HVAC and plumbing systems for primarily HyperScale and Colocation Data Center design associated with administrative and support spaces
  • Support additional areas such as Administrative, Warehouse, Maintenance, Workshop, Laboratory, Chemical Storage & Handling, Electrical Distribution Center, Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear, Pump Areas, Engine Generator, Blowers/Air Compressors, and Flammable & Combustible Liquids Storage
  • Lead Data Center airflow CFD modeling studies for interior and exterior spaces
  • Conduct energy audit/efficiency studies, code review/application, and sustainable design/LEED application of sustainable strategies
  • Develop engineering skills while working on challenging projects

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program
  • Minimum of 11 years related work experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Previous experience in Data Center/Mission Critical Design
  • Experience with construction support
  • Understanding of design differences in Hyper-scale, edge and colocation data centers
  • Familiarity with Data Center tier rating systems
  • Strong knowledge in Autodesk Revit
  • Data Center airflow CFD modeling experience for internal and external evaluations
  • Computer generated HVAC cooling and heating loads and HVAC equipment sizing
  • HVAC system energy modeling and energy code
  • Green building initiatives such as LEED
  • Technical submittal reviewing process and bid reviewing process for large-scale water and air cooled chiller plants
  • International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes, ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards, ASPE design handbooks, and SMACNA Standards
  • NFPA Standards
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously
  • Cadence Reality Data Center Design (Formerly 6Sigma Room)
