About the role

  • Senior Member Technical-SDET leading the automation of testing strategies at Broadridge. Collaborating with product teams and mentoring junior members in an inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead definition and design of test strategies/cases with a focus on manual and automated testing
  • Develop and maintain automated scripts and perform failure analysis to determine root cause of issues
  • Work alongside software and product teams to develop testing criteria for automated and manual regression testing where necessary
  • Assist with triage, diagnosis, and resolution of issues discovered across the platform
  • Drive the conversion of manual tests to automated whenever possible, and support manual testing efforts while the transition is in process
  • Uphold the Broadridge quality organizational standards and procedures, including our coding best practices
  • Contribute to performance, load, and security testing initiatives to ensure platform scalability and robustness
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality aspects of the codebase
  • Mentor junior QA/SDET team members and promote best practices in test automation and quality engineering
  • Collaborate with DevOps to ensure test environments are stable, scalable, and aligned with CI/CD pipelines

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of experience as QA Engineer or SDET
  • Hands-on experience with Java, Selenium
  • Designing, implementing, and running test cases
  • Working with test processes, methodologies, tools, and technology
  • Performing functional and UI testing, quality reporting
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices and agile approaches
  • Proficiency in CI/CD integration and pipeline development in Jenkins or other similar tools
  • Experience in Gherkin (BDD) using Cucumber
  • Experience using JIRA, ALM, Xray, or any relevant test management tool
  • Willingness to take challenges head-on while being part of a team
  • Proficiency in UI automation (Serenity/Selenium, Playwright)
  • Experience developing utilities using Java, Python, or any scripting languages
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and experience with API testing tools like Postman, Rest Assured
  • Knowledge or Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus
  • Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter is a plus
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and within a team environment
  • Selenium experience preferred in building object repositories, standard & custom checkpoints, parameterization, reusable functions, and recovery scenarios
  • Strong experience in Java
  • Strong experience in SQL, database concepts
  • Experience using GIT or other version control systems
  • Experience developing, supporting, and/or testing web applications
  • Ability to understand API – JSON and XML formats with experience
  • ISTQB or equivalent certification is a plus
  • Knowledge or experience with test data management and synthetic data generation tools is a plus
  • Knowledge or experience of shift-left testing practices and integrating testing early in the development lifecycle
