About the role

  • Senior Analyst in AML Investigations at BOQ Group, reviewing transaction monitoring and screening alerts while collaborating across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Review and investigate transaction monitoring and screening alerts.
  • Identify unusual activity and emerging patterns.
  • Support high-quality, timely reporting to AUSTRAC.
  • Apply strong judgement and technical expertise in assessing cases.
  • Document investigation outcomes and make well-reasoned recommendations.
  • Complete four-eye quality checks across investigations including customer off-boarding decisions.
  • Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders across Operations, Risk, Compliance and Data & Analytics.
  • Support capability uplift across the team and contribute to training initiatives.

Requirements

  • Capable AML or Financial Crime Analyst with solid experience in investigations, transaction monitoring, sanctions or screening.
  • Strong understanding of AML/CTF obligations, typologies and red flags.
  • Confident making risk-based decisions in complex or ambiguous situations.
  • Experience in financial services is required, with professional qualifications such as ACAMS or ICA well regarded.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and explain complex issues to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Enthusiastic about continuous learning and capability uplift within the team.
