Certification Engineer for aircraft seating products focusing on safety and quality in Boeing's Commercial Modifications Team. Responsible for regulatory compliance and structural assessments for aircraft interiors.
Responsibilities
Responsible for certification activities for aircraft seating products
Be a Boeing representative for stress, engineering and certification topics
Perform analytical and finite element calculations
Compile structural substantiation documents
Work closely with Boeing teams and other stakeholders to ensure proper quality in aircraft cabins
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Stress/Structures/Mechanical or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering)
5 + years' experience in commercial aircraft design with an EASA Part 21, Subpart J Design Organization (or equivalent)
Solid experience with EASA regulatory and applicable airworthiness requirements (CS-, JAR- and FAR-25)
First experience within seat development and certification, including test witnessing and (E-)TSO programs
High level of attention to detail
Experience with aircraft interior modification programs including certifying novel seat features
Proficiency with engineering tools (Altair HyperWorks, PATRAN/NASTRAN)
