About the role

  • HSEQ Auditor and Coordinator ensuring compliance in maritime consultancy. Involved in auditing, quality management, and IMS activities with a strong focus on ISO certifications.

Responsibilities

  • In this role you will be involved in Audit, Quality Management and IMS activities.
  • Manage quality assurance, non-conformances, and corrective actions and verify their effectiveness.
  • Prepare the business for external ISO certification and surveillance audits, partnering with operational leaders to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Plan and deliver risk-based internal audits, manage findings in myOSH (BMT’s online risk management and corrective action platform), and ensure timely close-out of actions. Providing executive summaries of audit results for senior leadership teams
  • Maintain and refine HSEQ policies, procedures, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency across platforms.
  • Deliver management system training and communications, simplifying complex requirements for leaders and teams.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute controlled documents in partnership with Document Owners.
  • Oversee document control and continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining alignment with global and third‑party accreditation requirements.
  • Time permitting, you may also be involved in supporting Health & Safety initiatives such as managing safety training, developing SWMS and JSAs, and supporting with Health & Safety communications.

Requirements

  • A WHS qualification.
  • Internal lead auditing experience and qualification.
  • Strong auditing knowledge and experience in risk-based audits, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage time and workload effectively.
  • Experience in preparing for and participating in ISO certifications for ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
  • Understanding of WHS and Environmental legislation, quality management systems, risk management principles, and ISO system governance.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Excellent reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Competence with SharePoint is highly advantageous.
  • Unrestricted Working rights in Australia.
