HSEQ Auditor and Coordinator ensuring compliance in maritime consultancy. Involved in auditing, quality management, and IMS activities with a strong focus on ISO certifications.
Responsibilities
In this role you will be involved in Audit, Quality Management and IMS activities.
Manage quality assurance, non-conformances, and corrective actions and verify their effectiveness.
Prepare the business for external ISO certification and surveillance audits, partnering with operational leaders to ensure readiness and compliance.
Plan and deliver risk-based internal audits, manage findings in myOSH (BMT’s online risk management and corrective action platform), and ensure timely close-out of actions. Providing executive summaries of audit results for senior leadership teams
Maintain and refine HSEQ policies, procedures, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency across platforms.
Deliver management system training and communications, simplifying complex requirements for leaders and teams.
Develop, maintain, and distribute controlled documents in partnership with Document Owners.
Oversee document control and continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining alignment with global and third‑party accreditation requirements.
Time permitting, you may also be involved in supporting Health & Safety initiatives such as managing safety training, developing SWMS and JSAs, and supporting with Health & Safety communications.
Requirements
A WHS qualification.
Internal lead auditing experience and qualification.
Strong auditing knowledge and experience in risk-based audits, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage time and workload effectively.
Experience in preparing for and participating in ISO certifications for ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
Understanding of WHS and Environmental legislation, quality management systems, risk management principles, and ISO system governance.
Sound written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills.
Excellent reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Competence with SharePoint is highly advantageous.
