About the role
- Data Engineer building scalable and reliable data pipelines for Billor Company's trucking ecosystem. Collaborating with product owners and teams to ensure data quality and governance in decision making.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Workflows, Pub/Sub)
- Design, optimize, and document data models across raw, silver, and gold layers
- Ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability of data workflows
- Work closely with product owners and team leads to understand business rules, data needs, and operational constraints
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring clarity and alignment
- Implement validation checks, monitoring, and controls to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Maintain clear documentation of business rules, data contracts, and pipeline behavior
- Support analysts, BI developers, and other engineers with data access, troubleshooting, and best practices
- Participate in discussions related to strategic metrics, data availability, and system improvements
Requirements
- Experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- Hands-on experience with GCP, especially BigQuery and data pipelines
- Knowledge of data modeling (raw, silver, gold layers) and DBT
- Understanding of data quality, monitoring, and governance
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
