About the role

  • Mechanical Engineer focused on DOE-related contractual obligations. Design and develop mechanical systems for government energy projects in Oak Ridge, TN.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems and components for Federal and DOE-related projects.
  • Develop, review, and maintain engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams, project managers, and external vendors to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Assist with equipment selection, system sizing, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure designs and deliverables comply with applicable codes, standards, and Federal regulations (e.g., ASME, ANSI, DOE requirements).
  • Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project status updates.
  • Support construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities as required.
  • Review vendor submittals, technical data, and drawings for compliance with project specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, and 3-10 years of mechanical engineering experience
  • Fundamental knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, systems, and design methodologies
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Proficiency with common engineering software tools (e.g., CAD, analysis, or documentation tools)
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
