Responsibilities
Act as a project engineer and technical lead under the direction of the Engineer of Record for tailings projects
Train, mentor, and supervise technical work of Junior staff
Manage projects, prepare proposals, and track budgets
Author or co-author reports
Organize and supervise field programs, including: site investigation, construction monitoring, and dam safety inspections
Work with client representatives
Help promote BGC vision, values and culture amongst BGC staff
Travel as required, which could include extended shifts at remote sites
Requirements
Undergraduate degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering
Registered (or eligible for registration) as a professional engineer
5-10 years relevant work experience in:
- Tailings management
- Tailings dam site investigation, design, or construction support
Fly Matrice M300 RTK drone for photogrammetry surveys
Excellent communication skills
Proficient in the use of Geostudio, Global Mapper, OpenGround, and Cambio TM
