Responsibilities
- Act as a project engineer and technical lead under the direction of the Engineer of Record for tailings projects
- Train, mentor, and supervise technical work of Junior staff
- Manage projects, prepare proposals, and track budgets
- Author or co-author reports
- Organize and supervise field programs, including: site investigation, construction monitoring, and dam safety inspections
- Work with client representatives
- Help promote BGC vision, values and culture amongst BGC staff
- Travel as required, which could include extended shifts at remote sites
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering
- Registered (or eligible for registration) as a professional engineer
- 5-10 years relevant work experience in:
- - Tailings management
- - Tailings dam site investigation, design, or construction support
- Fly Matrice M300 RTK drone for photogrammetry surveys
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in the use of Geostudio, Global Mapper, OpenGround, and Cambio TM
