About the role

  • Programmatic Consultant leading the development of a Biomedical Engineering Technology program for HCI College. Responsible for curriculum design and accreditation alignment with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the new Medical Engineering Technology program
  • Design a 10-month Diploma and a 24-month Associate of Science (AS) curriculum
  • Specify lab equipment requirements, including diagnostic tools and medical assets
  • Ensure content meets ACCSC and AAMI standards
  • Assist in identifying and recruiting local South Florida healthcare leaders for the Program Advisory Committee (PAC)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field is highly preferred
  • Current CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) or CCE (Certified Clinical Engineer) designation is required
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in Biomedical Equipment Management, either in a hospital (HTM department) or with a major manufacturer (e.g., GE, Philips, Siemens)
  • Prior experience in curriculum design or as a Program Director/Lead Instructor for an accredited BMET or ASMET program
  • Deep familiarity with NFPA 99, CMS, and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards regarding medical equipment
