About the role

  • Compliance Manager at berlinovo ensuring compliance management systems are effective. Collaborating with departments for compliance optimization and handling regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the functionality of the compliance management system
  • Further develop berlinovo's compliance management system, including creating and implementing concepts
  • Support business units in defining and optimizing berlinovo's internal policies from a compliance perspective
  • Prepare compliance reporting (e.g., annual compliance report)
  • Strengthen compliance risk prevention and implement regulatory requirements (Compliance Policy)
  • Coordinate and support cooperation with external counsel, auditors, authorities, etc.
  • Further develop whistleblower management: handle inquiries and reports, conduct fact-finding, coordinate cross-functional communication, and provide recommendations to optimize business processes, procedural workflows, SFO documents, and personnel disciplinary measures
  • Map business processes, procedures, flowcharts and provide argumentation and decision-support tools on compliance topics
  • Conduct or organize compliance training and prepare and, where required, lead or contribute to workshops, presentations and meetings
  • Support and coordinate audits of the compliance management system
  • Support the Money Laundering Officer to ensure compliance with due diligence obligations under the German Anti-Money Laundering Act (GwG) across the group
  • Manage and monitor the compliance sub-budget

Requirements

  • Degree in business administration and/or law, or an equivalent qualification acquired through professional experience
  • Relevant professional experience, preferably in the real estate sector
  • Exemplary sense of responsibility and integrity
  • Quick comprehension as well as analytical and conceptual skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment and flexibility during periods of increased workload
  • Initiative and ability to work independently
  • Team player with assertiveness and a confident, solution-oriented approach to conflict resolution
  • Openness to further development
  • Proficient in MS Office
