About the role

  • Business Analyst in Buying focusing on PowerBI and data products development for Bergzeit. Collaborating with key users and data engineers for analytics and support in retail processes.

Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the continuous development and expansion of data products in the Buying area, with a focus on Power BI
  • You provide the Buying team with analytical first-level support for ad-hoc analyses and interact with key users, business leads and subject matter owners on strategic and operational buying questions
  • As part of the central Data & Analytics team within IT, you interact with other business analysts as well as analytics and data engineers to jointly deploy Bergzeit's data products effectively
  • You support the central data team in maintaining high data quality standards and investigate data issues in the Buying area
  • You act as a bridge between the business unit and the central data team by translating business requirements into data model definitions
  • You convey analytical know-how to business leads and key users in Buying

Requirements

  • Degree or training in a data-related field or a relevant qualification
  • At least 1.5 years of relevant professional experience in an analyst-adjacent role
  • Experienced in translating complex business processes and requirements into well-structured data models
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to prepare and visualize complex data analyses in Excel, Power BI and SQL for Buying teams
  • Proficient in SQL with solid practical experience
  • Solid understanding of retail e-commerce processes, particularly item-related processes such as purchasing, goods receipt, inventory management, sell-through and returns
  • Team player with strong communication skills who enjoys working hands-on in cross-functional teams
  • Motivated to continuously upskill in the data field, e.g., in the use of large language models
  • Good German and English skills (German at C1 level). We use German for internal team communication and stakeholder discussions; code and documentation are written in English. You are fluent in both.
