About the role

  • Quality Assurance Consultant ensuring quality in business insurance operations and supporting underwriters throughout the underwriting process. Analyzing submissions and managing claims processes effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and process underwriters' submissions that exceed their delegated authorities (approve, refer, or decline).
  • Provide guidance and support to underwriters on underwriting-related issues.
  • Analyze and process claims files, managing the complete post-claim process.
  • Develop an internal audit plan to review underwriters' work and ensure its implementation.
  • Conduct underwriting file audits by underwriter, including reviewing a sample of new policies, endorsement requests, renewals, and cancellations.
  • Prepare a comprehensive report summarizing findings from the file reviews and present it to the relevant manager.

Requirements

  • College diploma in Insurance and Financial Services.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of underwriting experience in commercial/business insurance.
  • Professional Associate in Insurance (PAA) or Fellow Professional Associate in Insurance (FPAA) from the Insurance Institute of Canada.
  • Knowledge of insurance brokerage.
  • Expertise in underwriting and in the prevention and management of complex risks.
  • Intermediate proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
