About the role

  • Consultant at BearingPoint's Technology M&A team focusing on technology due diligence and M&A advisory. Working with top-tier clients and managing technology-led transactions in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support buy‑side and sell‑side technology due diligence under the guidance of Senior Consultants and Managers, analysing IT strategy, architecture, infrastructure, and operating models to assess maturity, scalability, and business alignment.
  • Support assessments of product strategy, roadmap, and functional differentiation, focusing on product maturity, technical foundations, and alignment with commercial objectives.
  • Build a practical understanding of software architecture, SDLC, cloud environments, and engineering practices relevant to technology‑led M&A.
  • Contribute across the transaction lifecycle, including pre‑deal due diligence and selected post‑deal activities such as integration, separation, and technology‑led value creation.
  • Support defined workstreams within cross‑functional teams, working closely with Senior Consultants and Managers to ensure high‑quality delivery.
  • Participate in client meetings and management interviews, and support the preparation of pitches, RFPs, RFIs, and client deliverables.
  • Work with colleagues across Europe on engagements spanning multiple industries and geographies.
  • Gain exposure to BearingPoint’s broader M&A strategy and internal initiatives, including portfolio and venture‑related activities.

Requirements

  • 2–3+ years of relevant professional experience, typically in:
  • - Technology, IT, or management consulting
  • - M&A advisory or transaction services
  • - Software, digital, or technology‑enabled environments
  • A good understanding of software and technology, including:
  • - Software architecture principles
  • - IT infrastructure and cloud environments
  • - SDLC and delivery models
  • Demonstrated interest in the intersection of M&A, strategy, and technology
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to structure and synthesise complex topics
  • Business‑oriented mindset and ability to work effectively in fast‑paced deal environments
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience producing high‑quality written reports and presentations
  • Collaborative team player, eager to learn and develop within a high‑performing team
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or MBA degree from a leading university, with a strong academic record
  • Fluent English
